Garbage Disposal Tabs

Do you ever notice that your garbage disposal is getting a bit stinky? I do, probably because we wash dishes by hand EVERYDAY! One day it might not be as bad, when we have a dish washer...other then me ;)

I had run out of store bought garbage disposal tabs, and could not bring myself to spend the unbelievable amount they have them listed for in stores, so I figured why not make our own?? I am sure they are cheaper, and probably a lot less toxic then the ones the store is selling!

I have recently got back into using DoTerra Essential Oils   and figured I would start there with my search on how to make these! Surprisingly they are super easy, and I already had everything I needed on hand! I found  THIS on the DoTerra Blog!

THINGS YOU WILL NEED

2 Cups Baking Soda (I used what I had which was the Super Washing Soda)
1 Cup Salt
1/2 Cup Water ( I used closer to 1 Cup)
1/3 Cup Liquid Castile Soap (I used Lemon Scent) (Purchased mine in the Target beauty section)
10 - 30 drops of your Favorite Essential Oil   (I used 10 drops of DoTerra Lemon)
Parchment Paper Lined Baking Sheet

First Step : I put the baking soda and salt in a medium size bowl, and just sifted it together!

Step 2 : Add your Castile Soap

Step 3: Add your Essential Oil (10-30 drops depending on how strong you would like the scent)

Step 4: Use your hands to mix this all up ( sorry no photo of me mixing, didn't have a helper)
Step 5: Add water into the mix until it reaches a moist sand consistency. I noticed I had to had more then the 1/2 cup stated on Doterra's blog.

Step 6: Use a scoop...or your hands and make little balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper

When I make these next time I think I will see if I can find a nice mold or a better scoop to use and make them look a lot better! I used my hands, and they do not look as pretty as some of the others I have seen on other sites! But they still get the job done!
Made this cute tag to attach to the jar, that way I would always have the ingredient amounts on hand all the time, and so no body will think they are cookies and accidentally eat one!

After a good 24 hours of letting them dry and get completely hard, you can put them in a cute jar (Glass) near your sink!

When your sink starts to get smelly, just pop one (or more) into the garbage disposal with the water running and let it refresh the sink!

Coupon and Errand Arc Planner

Hey everyone, how has your week been? Here in Colorado it is a bit chilly, with rain! Perfect excuse to stay inside and work on Planners! I recently fell in love with the Arc Customizable system you can purchase at Staples! I also joined a fun group of other "Arc Addicts" on Facebook. Join that group HERE.The people in this group are truly amazing, they are all so friendly and always have amazing ideas! One of the members did a blog post a while back, you might have seen that post floating around the page, or even on pintrest! She also happens to be one of my friends, who I want to give a shout out for this whole idea on creating an Arc Coupon/ Errand Planner! Check out Michelle's blog post on how she set her Errand Planner up HERE.

I could not help myself when I saw these beautiful quilted Arc's on clearance! They were both $11.24 and of course I had them shipped to the Staples store in my area to get the FREE shipping!

These photos do not give them justice, they are simply beautiful! I am almost afraid to take them anywhere with me!
I knew right away I wanted to turn one into an Errand/Coupon planner that I could take with me to the store! I just wasn't sure which one that would be until I found the perfect dividers for the Pink one!

The best part about these dividers is that they are FREE and ...You can customize them to your liking! Want a set for yourself?? Click   HERE  to create your own, and don't forget to Thank this blogger for taking the time to make them and share them with us for FREE!

They Match perfect with my Pink Quilted Arc, don't ya think? On the side Pocket (inside cover) I keep some of my "reward cards" because they were bulking up my every day wallet! I also keep any store adds in the bigger pocket in case I need to look at them during the week.

The first tab on my divider is to Target. Behind each tab (except the Sam's Club Tab) I have the grey pockets that I keep my coupons "to be used" in.

When I am at the store I pull the coupon I am using out and paperclip it to the outside of the pockets. This makes it so much easier during check out time because all the coupons are already out and ready to hand over! I also added some paper behind each tab. I make any lists of items I need on the paper separated by store.

The other Tabs I have are Walgreens,
Walmart,
Sam's ,
and Extra!

The Sam's Club tab is set up just a bit different than the others. If you have a Sam's membership you probably know they do not take coupons...I know big bummer! So this section only has the extra paper! In this section I plan to keep a list of things to buy, this always seems to be the store I forget to pick something up at, and its all the way across town, so its no fun realizing once you got home that you needed toilet paper or a case of water! I also plan to keep things we buy most often on a page, with prices! Sometimes there are great sales or coupons at other stores, and I start wondering if its cheaper to grab certain items at those stores vs Sam's Club that week!

The last section is for "Extra" stores. Sometimes I go to Albertson's so I plan on using this section for stores I do not go to as often. Or for coupons to Famous Footwear and Harbor Freight (for hubby) and  do not want to miss out on a deal if we happen to be near that store!

Now you might be thinking...Oh I don't use enough coupons to make something like this worth doing, or useful for myself! But maybe you make tons of lists for grocery shopping, or any shopping really! It might help to have it all divided up into sections like this, and in a nice book. I know in the past I will have to dig though my purse for a list or two...or coupons at the check out, only to become super annoyed because I am not only doing this but trying to keep my kids occupied and behaving at the same time! This might not be for you, but I think this will help a ton in my life! Plus with a new baby on the way...if I ever need to send my mom, or hubby to the store I can easily and quickly pull my list out and coupons so they can make a quick stop for me! Or I could send the whole system, but I doubt my Rocker, Tattooed Hubby will want to carry my Pink Quilted Arc into the store....who knows he might surprise me!
