How to Remove Permanent Marker from Plastic

Have you ever needed to remove Permanent Marker from something and wondered what magic ingredients might be needed to get the job done??? Well look no further, I have found something that works, and I can  bet that you have the items needed in your home! Awesome right! No need to run to the store...order some crazy toxic product you will only use once or question if the product you are using will even work! Oh yeah.. ..this amazing mixture....its non toxic! Double bonus right?

See the water cooler up above ^ we purchased three different sized ones from someone on craigslist for $10 and this one had his last name in Permanent Marker really big across the top! Well this might be your last name...its not ours, so I decided to remove it! I tried several things before I found what worked! I think if this was fresh ink it would have came off a lot easier, but it had been on it and in the sun for years ( I think)!

Well there ya go, this is ALL you need to remove that Permanent Marker from your plastic! A small bowl, old toothbrush (or something similar) some baking soda and tooth paste, oh and a little water! I mixed it together to make a paste...not too thick and not too runny! Best thing about this, it smells minty fresh!

Once its mixed up you just apply some to the area with the brush, and brush in circle motions, like you do when you brush your teeth... lets up you all brush your teeth ;) You can see it had already worked at removing the H in this photo, but you can still see it. If that happens just go over it another time. When you are finished brushing use a wet rag to wipe the excess mixture off!

When you are finished the marker should be completely gone! As you can see it did not remove any of the yellow paint, or leave any trace that there was once a name on it! Good as new! Hope this will help you out in the future! Feel free to share, and please link back to my blog if you use my photos! :)
