Missing the Mate- Lost Sock Box

What do you do with socks that are missing the mate? I used to leave them in the bottom of the basket, back when I used to leave all the clean laundry in the basket for day! We solved that issue real quick and only have one basket per room, which means it can not keep the clean clothes in it for long. I knew I needed to come up with something to hold our socks that did not have the mate with them, because lets face it...we all have a monster in the dryer that ALWAYS eats a few socks here and there! I covered a small box in some extra fabric I had laying around, and it stores all the socks missing their mate! We have a lot as you can see....

When it is time to put the clean clothes away, if I run across a sock that does not have a match in the basket then I set it aside and come back to it when all the other laundry is put away. 

Here are a few of my daughters cute socks that were missing the mate...After I finished hanging all her other clothes I dumped the socks from the box on the bed, and went on a search to find the missing one! I found two...who knows where the other ones ended up?? My kids always take their socks off in random places and than they are lost a little longer then they should be since I have to find them! Hopefully in the future I will get the chance to make something super cute to hold the socks missing the mate, but for now this works great!
